kindness and art

Yesterday someone told me that they noticed that I had not posted recently.   I was so amazed and pleased that someone was even looking at my blog.  I was then curious about the fact that I cared – but that is another topic.  Anyway…it was so kind of them to tell me this (you know who you are.  thank you.), and I was inspired to get right back to my computer and post.   I got on the thought line of ‘kindness’, and particularly, wondering how to represent kindness in a picture.    There was the obvious:  a photo of someone hugging another, or some such gesture.  But I was after a less obvious image.   And then I began to realize it is everywhere, it just depends how you look at it.  Kind of like art. So, here is a picture of kindness.   braid.jpg It also could be art.  Almost every morning my daughter lets me do this (each side!).  She is very patient, and generously donates her hair for my fingers to create these braids.   It is meditative, and I am pleased that my hands know how to do this by feel.  I think that she knows that I enjoy doing it, and she is kind to let me.
