creating
I have never been an accomplished cook. I enjoy it – usually in fits and starts, but I have never pursued it with enough diligence to become good at it. Having said that, I will now tell you that I have lately been enjoying it with renewed vigor. I love the planning, and the doing, and the results (good or bad). I was thinking about why I enjoy it, and I concluded that it is not only because it tastes good, but because I enjoy creating something, and seeing what I have created. I am excited to see the colors begin to change as things get mixed and cooked. I love it when things bubble, and spill over the edge. This berry slump tasted pretty good, and I was happy anticipating the first bite, but what really gave me a thrill was opening the oven door and SEEING them, all crispy and purple and oozing.
