FineLine Letterpress

simple

I love this stationery.   It is very simple and appealing.   The photo is a little fuzzy, sorry, but I could not wait to get my hands on the better camera to take a clearer picture and share it.  I will try to remember to take another photo tomorrow with a lens that can do close-ups in-focus.

E-stationery

I came across this type face in a book called “Fancy Alphabets” but I do not know the name of the type face.  The book says “France, 18th”  to describe the type face, so that is all I know so far.   I had a little plate made of the “E” because that is my initial, my husband’s and one of my daughters.  I also made an “A”  for my other daughter, and it also looks beautiful.   I have printed it here on Fabriano Mediovallis paper, which takes this lovely E very nicely.

If you know the name of this type face, please let me know!

    try this page http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/lanston/ltc-fournier-le-jeune/
Could it be “the all caps decorative face Fournier le Jeune of 1768 by Pierre Simon Fournier for the Peignot Foundry.”
The font for sale on that page is a little watered down from your sample, but cliché with the original F looks right.
Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Simon_Fournier, for some background.

Thank you for this suggestion. It is similar, but not the same. You may not have been able to see this however, because my photo was badly out of focus!
I will try to take another, more clear, photo and re-post. I would love to find out what it is.
